Not sure which type of therapy is right for you?
You don't need to decide on your own. During an initial consultation, we can understand what you are experiencing, discuss your goals and consider which therapeutic approach may be most appropriate for you.
Understanding EMDR
When the past keeps happening in the present.
Sometimes, even when an event is in the past, the mind and body can continue to respond as though the experience is still happening. This may show up as intense emotions, disturbing memories, avoidance, anxiety, feeling constantly on edge, or difficulty feeling safe and trusting.
EMDR aims to help the brain process distressing experiences in a more adaptive way. For many people, the goal is not to erase a memory, but to remember what happened without being overwhelmed by the emotional intensity attached to it.
More about EMDREMDR may be worth discussing if
- You feel 'stuck' despite understanding your difficulties.
- Certain memories continue to trigger intense emotions.
- You avoid people, places or situations because of past experiences.
- You feel constantly on edge or emotionally numb.
Therapy begins with assessment and emotional safety. EMDR is not necessarily the first step for everyone; the approach and pace are decided collaboratively.

Common questions
Before you reach out.
Do I need a diagnosis to attend therapy?
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to seek psychological support.
Do I need to talk about everything that happened?
Not necessarily. Therapy is collaborative and paced according to your needs and readiness.
Is EMDR suitable for everyone?
Not automatically. An initial assessment helps determine whether EMDR or another approach is appropriate.
How long will therapy take?
There is no fixed duration; it depends on the nature and complexity of your concerns, goals and progress.
Is therapy confidential?
Therapy is conducted within professional confidentiality and applicable ethical and legal requirements; limits to confidentiality are explained during consent.
